CrossFit today is more than just a sport - it's a way of life. A decisive factor that distinguishes CrossFit Studios from conventional fitness studios and concepts is the so-called "Open Gym". But what exactly does that mean and why is it so special?


What is the Open Gym at CrossFit Studios?

The Open Gym is a time at the CrossFit Studio when the doors are open for free training - at Valley Fitness this is outside of regular class hours. During the Open Gym times you have the freedom to use the studio for yourself to train independently and work on your individual goals. Unlike our group courses, which are led by our coaches, at the Open Gym it is your responsibility as an athlete to design your own training. However, this does not mean that you are on your own.


The 4 advantages of the Open Gym with us

1. Individual goals: During the Open Gym times you have the opportunity to focus on your personal goals. Whether you want to improve your pull-up technique, increase your endurance or work on your mobility - the Open Gym allows you to tailor your training to your needs. We will be happy to advise you and will be happy to provide you with tips if you wish.

2. Flexibility and freedom: The Open Gym means flexibility. There are no preset exercises. You can come and go at the Open Gym times whenever it suits you and focus on the exercises that you love the most or that you want to improve. This allows the training to be designed perfectly and also integrated into a busy schedule.

3. CrossFit is known for its versatility. It includes weightlifting, gymnastics, cardio, and more. In the Open Gym you can practice the movements and skills you learned in the regular classes and thus make faster progress.

4. Community and exchange: Although the training in the Open Gym is individually designed, there is still a strong community atmosphere. You will often meet like-minded people who have similar goals as you, and you can motivate and support each other. With us, the Open Gym is limited to a maximum of 8 people. You can use the room exclusively as you wish (you can also connect to our sound system and our Wi-Fi 😉).


Responsibility and safety in the Open Gym

With freedom comes responsibility. You will receive an introduction from us before you are allowed to use the Open Gym. You will also receive a door code. When nobody else is training, you have the studio exclusively for you! But there may also be trainers on site during Open Gym times. Please make sure to use the studio equipment with care and to lock the studio again when you leave. For your safety, the entrance is video-monitored.


Even if you're training for yourself, you should do a proper warm-up and avoid overloading. Use the Open Gym to personalize your training, deepen your skills and achieve your personal goals!
